Hide Any Drive In 3 Steps in Windows .



Method 1:
This would Quite seems funny. If you do hide your drive in windows with out software, but this is possible . you come right place. Most of you must have wondered if there exists a way without using software to Hide A Drive completely so that it cannot be viewed or accessed without unlocking it. Well for those who have and who haven't yet, here is a easiest method on How To Hide Any Drive In Just 3 Steps.

Here we go, follow these 3 simple steps: For Window XP,

1. Go To Start --> Run or use Win+R keys and type "cmd" and press Ok.


2. This will open Command Prompt for you. Now type "diskpart" and press Enter:

Once in Diskpart type "list volume" and press Enter:

This will list all the partitions in ur system.

Enter The Following Command

"select volume 10".

Remember to change 10 with the volume number of your partition you want to hide and press Enter:

3.Now as in my example I am hiding drive G: so my last command is "remove letter G" and then press Enter:

All done. Now open your computer and see that drive is made hidden. Now to make a drive Unhidden
Follow first 2 steps as such but in step 3 instead of remove letter G use "assign letter G"


Method 2 :

Disabling Display of Drives in My Computer 


To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer go to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Now in the right pane create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives. Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) Now press F5 to refresh. When you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown. To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item. It's .reg file is as follows:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDrives"=dword:03ffffff

 Method 3 :

Hide any Drive Using gpedit.msc  in windows xp , vista and win 7 . 
Now its turn for moving on to another level, lets suppose a virus or your administrator has blocked both command prompt and regedit but you still want to hide your drive, in that case Group Policy Editor will come in play.
Here is how to do it:
Step 1. Open Group Policy Editor (Press Win+R and type Gpedit.msc and press Enter)
Step 2. Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer

Step 3. Now on the right Hand side i.e Settings Pane look for Hide these specified drives in My Computer.
Step 4. Double Click on it and Enable it, now choose from the drop down box which drive you want to hide (I choose All – Restrict All Drives)
Step 5. Now click on Apply and click OK, now you can see that Hide these specified drives in My Computer is Enabled.
Step 6. Now logoff and login back to see changes.
How to revert back
In order to get them back go to Gpedit and set the Hide these specified drives in My Computer setting to Disable. That’s it 

Method 4:   
This is very easy and Simple step to hide the drive .
1. Right click on "my computer" .
2. Manage.
3.Disk Management 
4.Right click on partition which u want hide.
5.Change Drive letter and path 
6.Remove. 
now come back and see in your my computer Your is already hide .
7. To show the drive go again in Disk management through mange .
8. Right the partion which u had hide before
9. change drive letter and path 
10. add 
ok
